There are several ways to dial with MacDialer. There are two menus, one for your Phone Book and the other for your Address Book, a Dial Pad for numbers you haven't entered into either your Phone Book or your Address Book, and a system-wide services menu item that enables you to dial with MacDialer. Here are the steps for each.
Menus (either Phone Book menu or Address Book menu)
- Click the MacDialer menu item and mouse over either the "Phone Book" or "Address Book" submenu.
- Locate the name of the contact that you wish to dial and click on its name.
- MacDialer dials the number and a window appears showing the name and number of your contact.
Dial Pad:
- Click the "Dial Pad" menu item under the MacDialer menu.
- A window opens. Type a number to be dialed or type a name and select it from the filtered list.
- Press "Return" or click the "Dial" button.
System service:
- Select the text that is the number.
- Click on the menu item with the frontmost application's name and mouse over the "Services" menu item.
- Mouse over the "MacDialer" menu item and click on "Dial selected number".
