Github has gone live. I’ve been participating in the beta and I have to say that github is the killer app for git. I had just gotten really comfortable with svn when I got the invite to join github. I dislike having to re-learn a basic workflow but git just works. I’m still learning (and I haven’t seen anything that introduces as well as the svn red book), but I’m already a fan. Github just works so well. I love it and it made me a git convert. I expect that they’ll start seeing some of my money soon. If you’re a developer using source control (and if you’re a developer who isn’t, you should start using something, now), try git and use github. It is by far my favorite web app.
